This week’s Web App of the Week was created to celebrate Waitangi Day and enable you to have an informative Accessit Library user and learning experience.
Waitangi Day (Māori: Te Rā o Waitangi), marks the anniversary of the initial signing – on 6 February 1840 – of the Treaty of Waitangi, the founding document of New Zealand.
Waitangi Day is recognised as New Zealand’s national day and is an important marker in the country’s history. Recognition of the significance of the Treaty of Waitangi as the nation’s founding document will continue to encourage leaders, communities and individuals to mark the day in new ways.
