Web App of the Week – Denefield School
Web App of the Week is an award for outstanding users of Accessit Library. It’s a place to recognise good-looking, useful user interfaces and somewhere to turn to for inspiration.
This week, Bethan Lloyd, the librarian and LRC manager at Denefield secondary school and sixth form shares her versatile Web App packed with news items, resources, clubs, collections and links. She uses her Accessit Web App as a way to share recently reviewed books, exciting competitions, and to promote her Library and Games Club.
While she is only new to using Accessit, it appears she has mastered the art of adapting the dashboards to fit perfectly for both her students and staff.
Her student’s dashboard focuses on a variety of resources from videos and links, to books, eBooks and free online classes, while her dashboard for staff promotes development recourses and informative videos on how they can better use the Web App to get more out of their school library.
Bethan has a bright and colourful multifunctional space which she is proud to call her library. Since becoming the Librarian at Denefield School she has helped the library progress greatly by re-organising her non-fiction resources into the Dewey Decimal System, adding e-books and audio books to the schools catalogue, and starting a wonderful student Library/Games Club. She found Accessit has given her even more confidence in her library by making sharing resources with students and staff effortless!
“I feel much more confident in promoting the library and resources because it is so easy to ‘say everything is on this link, here’s the QR code!’”
